Vision Board

"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream" - C.S. Lewis
Good evening everyone! Today seemed to be one non stop day for me, but it was wonderful. Work (we'll skip) but just know I was there. Then afterwards played with the pup then visited one of my besties who moved up the road from me. It's comforting having close friends in the neighborhood. We ate pizza and drank wine (Sangria) it was delicious, so delicious I couldn't stop singing the Fergie song.. you know "....d to the e.. to the l-i-c-i-o-u-s....." okay, I think you can picture it all now :)

*     *     *     *     *     *     *
Last week on Cinco De Mayo my bff and I spent time together eating Mexican food (of course), drinking margaritas and just laughing our little tooshes off! One of the topics that came up is what we want out of life. Where do we see ourselves and what do we want to accomplish. I know for me I could say without hesitating that I am not happy with what I'm doing right now. Life is wonderful thought, when it comes to my relationship with Charlie, our home, family, friends, etc. As I talked to more people about this I'm finding more and more feel the same way!

Both of us made a goal that by this coming Friday we'll have started Vision Boards. I have not started mine but tomorrow after work that will be my project. I already know what I want on there and I'm excited to share it with everyone. I hope that you're a bit lost like I am at times and want to put a goal up, somewhere visible that will help reminding you each day of that light at the end of the tunnel... you'll join in! Good luck ♥

*When did you begin blogging and what inspired you?
i began blogging soon after my husband matthew and i got married.  during the wedding planning process i discovered so many blogs that i absolutely fell in love with (i was in search for cute DIY things).  after the wedding day passed, i had a lot of extra time to do something new and decided that i would start a blog as well.  i wanted to document my creative journey, life as a newlywed and everything in between.

*Do you have any features you created on your blog? If so, tell us about them/it.
since i started blogging back in november i have created a few different features.  one being "in her shoes"  every wednesday i share what a day in someone's shoes is like.  i ask the same question of everyone.  it is really interesting to see the differences.  what makes that person tick and what motivates them to get their day started.

i also recently created a feature called "a tattoo story"  this feature is simply someone sharing their tattoos, their story and what the meaning is behind what they have.  i am a fan of beautiful tattoos and am inspired by the wonderful stories that come along with them...this is the reason i started this feature.

*Do you have advice for other bloggers who are just starting off?

be consistent, post often, and include pictures!  when i first started blogging, i found that posting frequently was one of the most important things.  obviously if you don't have something to share, that is okay...but sometimes you can get inspired by just looking around.  when i find myself lacking inspiration i go to sites like we heart it and just take a look at all of the beautiful pictures.  sometimes i'll come across one that triggers some type of memory, when this happens i share it.  it seems as though these posts become the most popular and are the ones that people can relate to the easiest.  there are no rules when it comes to blogging...that is what makes it so fun!

*What is a perfect day in your eyes?
the perfect day for me is when i can look back at what i did and know that i worked my absolute hardest to make my dreams come true.

Hey everyone!  I'm here to tell you a little bit about myself and my little blog, Relevant Notes.
I'm a student, and I just graduated last weekend from the University of Pittsburgh!  I studied Computer Science and Linguistics, which gives me more than enough excuse for being a complete nerd :)  I'm sticking around Pittsburgh for a year of grad school, and after that - who knows!  I am super excited about spending the summer in the city and blogging about day trips and whatever other fun I find!

I love reading and just hanging out with my family, friends, and boyfriend.  I'm a total homebody, but I've recently been bitten by the travel bug and would love to explore so many other places!  Over spring break I went to Ireland with my best friend, where I got to see some great sights.  Let's just say that after visiting so many castles, my expectations for my first home have dramatically increased...

I absolutely love music, which is how the idea of Relevant Notes was born.  I'm that annoying person who can't walk anywhere without her Ipod playing (Luckily, I have yet to get run into or, more likely, run into anything myself - score!).  I love finding a song that perfectly describes my day, week, or life, and I love compiling those little moments on my blog.  I like to say that my blog is about life... set to a soundtrack :)

I started Relevant Notes just about 6 months ago, and it has been so much fun joining the blogosphere.  I would love to get to know you and check out your blogs!  You can email me any time at relevant.notes.girl {at} gmail {dot} com, or check out my twitter @RelevantNotes.  Have a wonderful day :)

Hey Mamas, you're all beautiful!

Happy Mother's Day ♥

Today was perfect. My mom had the best day!
My sister and I took her to the outlets.
We shopped...
& shopped & shopped!
We met a wicked cute, shaggy dog named Jack.
We all found dresses at Dress Barn for my cousin's Wedding next weekend (take that off the 'to do list')!
Fried clam strips was on all three of our minds.
We drove back and forth on Route 1 in search for a yummy seafood joint.
We found it - Lenny & Joe's Fish Tale... yummy!
The line was long & a woman walking out stopped us to say..
..."ladies it's like a 1 hour wait in there"...
We continued inside :)
The line was long but it moved quickly until..
We were next in line and all registers froze.
They could only take cash, I squealed because lunch was my gift and I never carry cash.
My sister saved the day.
There was no where to sit so we ate in the car.
On the way home my mom said,
"This day was so much fun, I love you girls so much. Thank you"
It was perfect ♥
The end!

A beautiful necklace on a lovely day!

Today was a special day. As I opened the mailbox and gathered all of the accumulating mail, there was a large package amongst them all. It was my necklace that I won a few weeks ago. It's so beautiful. One of those 'so beautiful moments' where your head tilts to the side, an unstoppable smile develops and you scrunch your shoulders up towards your chin. Yes, all of that happened to me when I opened the envelope and saw the cute little sealed box.

I wanted to share with you just how elegant this piece of jewelry is. Thank you to the very talented, Keri from Bohemian Backbone. If you haven't seen her website then you must head over there. Within minutes you'll find something that just throws you head over heels. ♥

*if you click on the photo below it will open up so you can see the necklace up close!

Sponsor Love: Bright Wishes

Hello! My name is Brooke and I'm the owner of Bright Wishes. I am 19 years old (almost 20!) and I have a 2 year old daughter who I call Little One on the blog. I am also engaged to be married to my fiancé, Mr. Charming. He's in the U.S. Navy and I am incredibly proud of him. I like to think of my blog as inspirational and encouraging. I love helping out people and giving out advice.  I also frequently talk about wedding plans on the blog.  Weddings are one of my favorite things. I used to look at wedding blogs before I even started blogging or even started dating my fiancé.  I also like to be creative and ever since blogging, I like to think I become more creative each day looking at everyone's blogs. I also host the weekly Wednesday Wishes and it would be great to see you link up! I hope you stop by and take a look around!

Sharing a Love Story ♥

Today we share true love! Matt and Chrissie are such an adorable couple and very inspiring. Enjoy their story and stop bye to visit. You'll love what their blog is about ♥

Matt and I met in 2004 at a camp organized by our Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We didn’t really pay much attention to each other until we were both 16 and became friends... We got to know each other through msn because we lived an hour apart from each other and probably saw each other about once a month. For me, I knew Matt was special right away, for him it took a little longer and we began dating in July 2007. After a few dates we became an “item” in August 2007. We shared our first kiss in the October.

After a year of dating, Matt was called on a Mission for our Church. He was to serve for two years. During that time, we were allowed just four phone calls (Christmases and Mother’s Days) and could not see each other, so we wrote to each other each week and recorded tapes to send to one another. While Matt was away, and I waited, we both grew individually and together in our love for each other. It was one of the best decisions I made in my life, to wait. I can say I am a stronger person because of it.

In August 2010, Matt returned home from his Mission. It was amazing how natural it was, almost like he never left at times. Within five days, on our three year anniversary, Matt proposed and I said yes! He took me to a park we used to hang out in a lot before he had gone on his Mission... I suspected nothing (although we had talked about marriage in the letters and tapes we sent). After reaching the playground, Matt quickly scanned the area and gave me a letter, full of lovey duvey mushy stuff :) The funny part of it is, I didn’t read to the end... (which said I just have one thing to ask) so I was still super surprised when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him – of course I said yes! He didn’t have an engagement ring for me yet so he used a ring he had bought me while he was on his Mission to represent my promise to wait. We stood in the rain in complete happiness. Eventually we headed back to the car where Matt produced a bottle of schloer, two wine glasses and a box of chocolates to celebrate. We went straight to my parents home to tell them the news then went to pick out the ring. The ring I wanted was a perfect fit so we didn’t even have to get it sized! Once we got my ring, we went to Matt’s parents to tell them – but they already knew because Matt told them his intentions :)

About four months later, on December 11th 2010, we got married at one of the Chapels of our Church and were sealed for eternity at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Preston England Temple.

Flowers, Birds & the Bees

This past October, Halloween to be exact... marked 1 year in our home. Prior to buying our home Charlie and I lived in an apartment for almost 5 years. There we were on the second floor with not even a little balcony. There was no true yard so we were pretty much confined to our 2 bedroom castle. It did the job and we have so many fun memories with friends and family living there.

One of the 'must haves' for us when we were house searching was a big yard. I always grew up having a nice yard to host and play sports. That's what we really wanted so some houses we turned down due to the lack of a spacious yard. Since Charlie's schedule has been just awful the last year we never got time together to go outside and do yardwork. He pretty much took care of all of it on his days off which were always during the week.

Let's just say, we love our yard and this past Sunday, together we were able to give our thanks and love to it! Charlie tore up the front and planted grass seed. Keep your fingers crossed because per our lovely neighbors the front yard of our home is jinxed and grass never grows. It looked terrible, but after Charlie removed all of the crab grass, ants, weeds, etc it's already 100% better than it was before.

I cleaned out this area in the back of our house that the prior owners put together. I can't believe that I didn't take a picture of all the whole thing, but I will when it's done. Besides the pictures below I planted Rose Campion and Daisies. I can't wait for everything to come to life! I will give you a sneak peak to my lovely garden! ♥

Sharing a Love Story ♥

Today I am in introducing the very lovely & adorable , Molly, to you all. She has been so wonderful to share her Love Story with all of us! You will adore her just as much as I do. Enjoy and keep spreading the love ♥

My name is Molly (infertilenany).
My blog is Adventures of an Infertile Nanny (http://infertilenanny.blogspot.com). I blog about my life as a happily married-mother to four furrbabies (3 cats, 1 dog)-full time nanny/part time book seller who is dealing with unexplained infertility. I love owls, my pets, and books. But most of all I love my husband Mr.Awesome. This is our love story...
I'd like to say it was love at first site but honestly we were only 16 when we started dating and we kind of stumbled into a relationship. Mr.Awesome had dated one of my friends and I had dated two of his so we had "hung out" before but we had never really considered dating. Luck would have it that a time when we were both single Mr.Awesome and I would end up at the same dance club (for teens) and end up slow dancing the night away. After that we were inseparable. By the time we were 18 Mr.Awesome (due to family issues) had moved in with my family as we both attended a local college. Through the years our love grew, not just for each other but for our families and for the life we were making with each other. In the summer after we turned 18 we rented our first place by ourselves, well okay we had a room mate but still. Right after we turned 19 Mr.Awesome proposed to me. Although I knew it was coming, we had shopped for rings together, it was still on of the happiest days of my life. I didn't hesitate to say yes and in January 2005 in Mexico we got married, we were only 20 years old but we knew we were ready. My wedding was everything I every hoped it would be. We had about 20 family members and friends attend and we got married bare foot on the beach. In 2007 (at the age of 22) Mr.Awesome and I bought our house together. We had been renting a tiny little apartment with our three cats and we wanted to give them more space. They were over thrilled to have so much room to roam and we were thrilled to have a place we could call our own. That same month we decided we were ready to fill that home with more than just cats and we started trying to conceive.

It's been almost four years since that day and although we have yet to succeed at trying to conceive we are happy together as we can be. I can't imagine my life without Mr.Awesome and I feel so blessed that I met the love of my life at the tender age of 16. I feel like our relationship is so unique because we literally grew up together. We are connected in so many ways it simply amazes me. I love my life and I love my husband.

Oh Sweet, Sweet Love

Walking around NYC we did pass bye a few shops to get to our destinations. This specific window stopped me in my tracks when I made eye contact. Love at first site!

For some time now I've been collecting Wine Corks because I have some cute ideas to do within our house. I only have a few cups full, which is hard to believe knowing how much wine I & friends go through ♥  You can see why I love this so much. The dress is so elegant!
Love is..

I also would like to send my love and thanks to Mervi and Helena at My Best Friend Jules. I won the most beautiful necklace from Bohemian Backbone! This truly made my day ♥

Love is in NYC!

Charlie and I ventured to NYC yesterday. It was truly one, amazing & perfect day to be galavanting down 5th Avenue and everywhere else our feet tolerated. Every time that we've visited NYC on our itinerary was the Empire State Building, Little Italy, Time Square, the shops, etc. Yesterday was filled with all new experiences, none of those that we've seen time and time again. I took so many pictures so I may need to break this up into quite a few posts ♥

Today I share with you the first peak into our day ♥

Love is...
